Folly Beach UMC participates in a number of missions both in the Lowcountry and abroad. Learn more about how we carry Christ’s light through the world below.

Beds = Dreams
We believe that no child should go without a safe place to sleep. The Beds Equal Dreams ministry provides beds and bedding to children who do not have a bed to call their own. Many of these children are homeless or are in transitional housing.
We have Build-A-Bed events to construct our easy-to-assemble bed frame from donated lumber. We supply a mattress as well as sheets and a comforter for the bed.
HALOS
The mission of HALOS is to provide support and advocacy to abused and neglected children and kinship caregivers. Kinship care keeps children out of foster care. They are with family who love them. Studies show they will have better outcomes, but meeting their needs can be a struggle. You can help!
Honduras
FBUMC supports an annual international mission trip to Honduras, working with families there to build stable homes in conjunction with Palmetto International Missions. We support this effort through prayers, fundraising, and sending missionaries to help lay block, dig foundations, and connect with the homeowners and their children in person.

Pillow Case Dresses
The SC Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church is asking for pillow case dresses for Fairfield Children’s Home & Hartzell School at Old Mutare Mission, Zimbabwe, Africa. The dresses are part of the “every child is a miracle.” campaign. South Carolina’s Bishop Holston will be presenting the dresses personally this January. Completed dress donations can be to Folly Beach United Methodist Church. You can download the directions here.
